About Vision Health Care Foundation

Who We Are

Vision Health Care Foundation (VHCF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives through accessible and inclusive eye care.

At its core, VHCF is built on a simple belief that quality eye care is not a privilege, but a basic human right. With this purpose, the foundation works to provide community-driven healthcare services, ensuring that underserved communities and individuals with disabilities receive the care they deserve with dignity and respect.

Our Journey

Co-founded and led by Dr. M. Mazhar Awan, VHCF’s journey is a reflection of long-term commitment and sincere service. What began as a Welfare Association in 2002 gradually evolved into a formal foundation in 2009, and further strengthened into its present structure in 2022.

From a small charitable clinic to a nationally recognized institution, this journey has been shaped by resilience, consistency, and a deep sense of responsibility towards humanity. Today, VHCF proudly carries forward more than two decades of continuous not-for-profit service.

What We Do

VHCF manages Khairunnisa Eye Hospital in Karachi, where patients receive comprehensive and compassionate eye care services.

Beyond hospital-based care, the foundation actively reaches communities through primary eye care and school health services in Karachi and Attock (Punjab). These initiatives are designed to ensure early detection, timely treatment, and greater awareness about eye health.

In addition, VHCF conducts extensive school and community programs, along with professional training initiatives in eye health. These efforts focus on disability inclusion, equity, and community-based interventions—helping individuals not only regain vision but also restore confidence and independence in their daily lives.

Our Vision for the Future

VHCF remains committed to expanding its reach and impact across Pakistan. The foundation aims to strengthen school health systems, promote community-based eye care, and develop disability-inclusive programs through meaningful collaborations and partnerships.

With a clear vision and a people-centered approach, VHCF continues its journey towards a future where no one is left behind due to lack of access to quality eye care.
